Peter Doig (DOYG; born 17 April 1959)[1] is a painter of Scottish nationality, but who spent a nomadic childhood between Trinidad, Canada, and Britain.[2] He settled in Trinidad with his family between 2002 and 2021, when he moved back to London.[3]
In 2007, his painting White Canoe (1990-91) sold at Sotheby's for $11.3 million, then an auction record for a living European artist.[4] In February 2013, his painting The Architect's Home in the Ravine sold for $12 million at a London auction.[5] Art critic Jon
