The Good Morning Americaco-host worked her way up the ladder, beginning with a journalism major at Penn State.

"My first taste of the business was the glamorous job of pulling camera cables so they wouldn't get tangled while the football games were filmed," Spencer told Marie Claire. She went on to work as a reporter for Tennessee's WDEF-TV, Long Island's News 12, and WABC-TV Eyewitness News in New York City, where she got her debut as an anchor.
